If you have installed Default Folder, you can use AliasMenu's menus while an Open or a Save dialog is active. Default Folder will display the selected item, or, if its type is not adequate, its enclosing folder.
This link between AliasMenu and Default Folder is a great addition to the Macintosh experience. Even the AliasMenu keyboard shortcuts work on file dialogs, adding an instant navigation from folder to folder.
If it doesn't work, check the following points:
Ñ Default Folder's version 3.0.4 or more is necessary for AliasMenu support. In case, download the up-to-date version from the Default Folder web site at <http://www.stclairsoft.com/DefaultFolder/index.html>.
Ñ AliasMenu's version 2.2 or more is necessary for BeHierarchic support. In case, download the up-to-date version from the AliasMenu web site at <http://www.integra.fr/bw>.
In case of problems, contact the author of AliasMenu at <bw@xlii.org>.
Note : Default Folder is an independent program written by Jon Gotow. Its use is in no way mandatory for AliasMenu. Still, you definitely should give it a try.
